In early 2019, I made the decision to retire from my career in health administration and move to Aiken. Admittedly, I thought I had a pretty good idea of the type of house and neighborhood I wanted, but I also wanted to keep all aspects open. I was living out of state and still working full time, so the house finding process would have to take place via phone and computer with hopefully 1 or 2 trips. It also required a type of time balance, because I did not want to purchase a house until I was ready to move, which was several months away. Yes, I had no idea how fast the real estate market was in Aiken! However, Monica did know. Monica was the perfect agent for me. She understood that even though I was focusing on Woodside, I really did want to learn about the different neighborhoods. She also knew that finding a house is a process, the original description likely changing as the investigation becomes more focused. During the six-month process, Monica sent me pictures and videos of houses. The trips were time efficient and effective. She remained calm as offers were made and lost. When we found the perfect house, we both ‘just knew it’ as soon as we entered the front door! The purchase and closing process was communicated and executed well. As the real estate agent, Monica was knowledgeable, organized and communicated well. As important, she has kept in touch since the house purchase, introducing me to several new residents!
